Am 12. und 13. M\u00e4rz 2011 fanden im th\u00fcringischen Gera, das 15. Internationale Gera-Masters<\/strong> statt. 3 Schwimmer des Wiener Sport-Club bestritten dabei erstmals Wettk\u00e4mpfe auf deutschem Boden, mit gutem Erfolg und teilweise tollen Leistungen.<\/p>\n

Das Hofwiesenbad Gera<\/a> stellte sich dabei als eine gro\u00dfartige Wettkampfst\u00e4tte heraus, lichtdurchflutet, gro\u00dfr\u00e4umig, gute Infrastruktur und offensichtlich relativ frisch saniert. Aber auch der VfL Gera 1990<\/a> zeigte sich von seiner besten Seite, als hervorragender Veranstalter und Gastgeber, sodass man wohl n\u00e4chstes jahr wieder gerne dort starten werden wird.<\/p>\n

Zum Sportlichen:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bei dem relativ gut besetzte Meeting konnte man sich auf vereinzelte Medaillen Hoffnung machen, die dann auch bei guten Leistungen eintraten. Silber <\/strong>eroberten schlu\u00dfendlich in der AK50 Peter Polak<\/strong> \u00fcber 400m und 50m Freistil sowie Wolfgang Raml<\/strong> in der AK40 auf den 200m Lagen. 4 Bronzemdaillen rundeten das recht gute Ergebnis ab, das auch mit einigen Bestleistungen seinen Niederschlag fand. Bitter nur die beiden Disqualifikationen von Christian Pischl\u00f6ger<\/strong> \u00fcber die langen Brustdistanzen, der ansonsten steigende Form bewies.
